Heartfelt congratulations are due to KMC member John Dowd who summited Everest in late May on his first attempt. Those who have climbed with John were not surprised at his success as he is an extremely competent, determined and very fit mountaineer. Always modest, John has quietly been notching up a string of successful ascents in recent years and is now one of Ireland's most experienced high-altitude mountaineers. Well done John!
