of warm synthetic clothing (fleece garments or track-suit trousers

Car Pooling
As car parking is proving problematic in some of the areas
we visit, we suggest that walk leaders locate a suitable car parking
area in the general area of the walk, and that participants then pool
cars to drive to the actual start of the walk. Your co-operation with
walk leaders in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
Climbing
Wall
Scheduled
opening of the climbing wall will cease on Thursday 01st April 2010. Outdoor
climbing will continue on Thursday evenings usually in the Gap of Dunloe
area. In the event of rain the climbing wall may be open.
Annual
Barbeque
Well,
the dolphins got it wrong so we will leave the decision on the BBQ in
the hands of the weather gods.
The
Three Ridge Challenge
This
day of scrambling has become very popular. it involves climbing the
Hag's Tooth, then onto Howling Ridge and finishing with the Beenkeragh
Ridge. Rope assistance will be provided but arrange your own harness.
The
Gap Triathlon
Following
the sucess of this event last year on what was a day of apalling weather
we will announce a date in due course for a rerun. Stephen McAuliffe
will, no doubt, hatch a devilish plan for the route. We are urging KMC
contestants to be superfit so as to see off the challenge from the TMC.
The
Mega Walk
This
year the mega walk is fro Glentenassig to Brandon with a campout near
the Conair Pass. It will be possible to stash gear at the bivvy site so
a comfortable night should be had.
KMC
Family Carrantuathail Day
For
anyone interested in taking family members up Carrantuathail we will
have a family day out on Sunday 30th May to coincide with the Reeks
Walk. If interested contact Joe or Tim.
